Abstract

This research explores the ghazal poetry of Pir Naseeruddin Naseer Gilani, highlighting his unique contribution to Urdu literature as a poet who bridges traditional and modern styles. While rooted in the classical conventions of rhyme, meter, and thematic expressions of love, mysticism, and human emotion, Naseer Gilani’s poetry simultaneously incorporates modern sensibilities, contemporary issues, and innovative literary techniques. The study examines his poetic themes, stylistic devices, and the fusion of classical and modern elements, demonstrating how his work enriches the Urdu ghazal tradition while addressing the evolving cultural and social contexts of his time. By analyzing a selection of his ghazals, this paper aims to offer insights into the adaptability of classical forms in modern literary expression and the continuing relevance of ghazal as a literary genre.
