Abstract

This article investigates the intricate amalgamation of history and civilization in the novels of Qurat-ul-Ain Haider. By examining seminal works such as آگ کا دریا, کارِ جہاں, and میری ذات زرہ بنشاں, the study explores how Haider interweaves historical events—including the legacy of colonialism, the partition of the Indian subcontinent, and post-independence socio-political transformations—with narratives of cultural identity and civilization. Drawing on postcolonial theory and narrative analysis, the article argues that Haider’s narrative strategy not only reflects the multifaceted nature of history but also redefines the boundaries of civilization in South Asian literature. The research employs a comparative methodological framework, situating her texts within both historical discourses and cultural critiques, and highlights how her literary artistry creates a dynamic dialogue between individual identity and historical forces.
